Ram runners compete in Roland-Story Invitational

The Greene County Ram cross country teams competed Sept. 26 in the Roland-Story Invitational. The boys placed eighth in what coach Jeff Lamoureux described as “a very competitive field.” Noah Hinote posted a personal best time of 17:32, good for tenth place. Nick Black, Carter Hinote, Eli Carstensen, Maddox Carstensen all posted personal best times.  

Finishes and times for the boys were Noah Hinote, 17:32.61, 10th; Brady Carstensen, 18th:16.18, 34th; Nick Black, 18:43.29, 44th; Carter Hinote, 18:45.43, 45th; Jaden Koller, 20:51.79, 70th; Eli Carstensen, 20:54.00, 71st; and Maddox Carstensen, 21:25.54, 75th.

The winning time was 16:34.24 set by Nyle Davis of Bondurant-Farrar.

Bondurant-Farrar won with 54 points. Other team scores were Nevada 72, Ogden 78, North Polk 86, Clear Lake 133, Ballard 192, Roland-Story 198, Greene County 203, Madrid 236, Southeast Valley 271, Saydel 315, South Hamilton 335, and Woodward Academy 346.

The girls team did not have enough runners for a team score, but Rylee Mowrer set a personal record of 23:19 and finished in 38th place.

Ava Jablonski ran the 5K in 26.31.63, also a personal best, and placed 86th.

The winning time was 19:09.07 set by Annika Larson of Ballard.

The teams run next in Perry next Thursday.
